Cookie Policy
1.What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. “Similar storage” means browser features such as local storage that work the same way. Under the NDPA, the GDPR and the ePrivacy rules, only storage that is strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for may be used without your consent. Everything else needs your opt-in first.
2.Strictly necessary
These are always on, because the site cannot work securely without them. They are not used to track you.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |

| sonshub_consent | SonsHub Media | Remembers your cookie choice and when you made it | 6 months |
| sonshub-theme (local storage) | SonsHub Media | Remembers light or dark mode | Until you clear it |
| __cf_bm, cf_clearance | Cloudflare | Tells people from bots and protects the site from attacks | 30 minutes to 1 year |
| next-auth.session-token, next-auth.csrf-token, next-auth.callback-url (prefixed __Secure-/__Host- on HTTPS) | SonsHub Media | Keeps our staff signed in to the admin area and protects sign-in. Not set for visitors. | Session, up to 7 days |
| __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid | Stripe | Fraud prevention when you pay a US dollar invoice by card. Only on invoice payment pages. | 30 minutes to 1 year |
Paying in naira takes you to Paystack's own checkout, which follows Paystack's cookie policy.
3.Media embeds (optional)
Only if you choose “Accept all”, turn on Media embeds, or press “Load” on a player, we load:
| Service | Where | What it may do |
|---|---|---|
| Spotify | Artist pages | Show a music player; Spotify may set cookies and receive your IP address and browser details |
| Google Maps | Contact page | Show our location; Google may set cookies and receive your IP address and browser details |
Until then, nothing is requested from these services. Their own policies apply once they load: Spotify, Google.
4.What we don't use
- No analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics).
- No advertising, retargeting or social media pixels.
- No tracking of email opens or clicks.
If we ever add any of these, we will update this policy, add a new choice to the cookie bar and ask you again before anything loads.
5.Your choices
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time. It takes effect straight away; reload the page to remove a player that is already showing.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site, such as payments, from working. For anything else, see our Privacy Policy or email [email protected].
